Feeling well and staying well

Below is one of Han van de Braak's lecture slides on natural health and nutrition. It depicts the use of nutrients (step 3-4 is where Aloeride® comes into play) and future articles and videos in this website, blog or forum will cover most aspects in detail.

Here is the gist of it: correct and balanced nutrition + exercise to get blood to all your nooks and crannies + rest & relaxation goes a long way towards avoiding having to see the men and women in white coats.

  1. Mother’s resources: what range and quantity of nutrients does the mother have to pass on to her foetus (also see grey text beyond 7). For example, if the mother is low in Selenium and doesn’t eat Selenium rich foods (cereals, brazil nuts, peas, beans, cod and turkey) then she cannot pass on enough Selenium for the baby to use this trace element for its glutathione peroxidase enzyme (red blood cell protection, antioxidant, detoxification), a healthy heart (Keshan cardiomyopathy), healthy immune competence, healthy thyroid function (1 iodothyronine deiodinase (IDI) being a selenoenzyme responsible for peripheral T4 to T3 conversion in liver and kidneys) and so on. Note that in terms of nutrition babies take priority over mummies. So, when there is a scarcity of nutrients, a mother may end up nutrient deficient during pregnancy and present with deficiency driven symptoms. Mother's resources also affects breast feeding, with a variation in daily output of micronutrients and a notable decline in the concentration of Zinc. Finally, lipid soluble toxins transfer from a mother's plasma into breast milk, the heavy metal Cadmium shares common transporters with Iron and Manganese yet it inhibits secretion of Calcium to breast milk. But beware, 1) is not only about what nutrients mummy may or may not pass onto her baby (see 7), this is also what pollution mummy may or may not pass on. Lots of pollutants - sometimes as simple as a fatty diet - can pass the placenta and some of these can cause 'epigenetic' DNA modifications, i.e. what mother passes on either reduces or increases the risk of disease in her offspring (New Scientist April 20, 2010).

  2. Inherited nutrients: the level of nutrients you get from your mother which form the building blocks for your body to grow with. If you are low in inherited nutrients you are more susceptible to future health problems (DNA in baby's cells may not express itself properly as this is nutrient dependent).

  3. Diet and Supplementation: is all about the choice in the quality of the food you buy, how you prepare it and what you eat; with any extra supplementation from vitamin and mineral products.

  4. Acquired nutrients: is the level of nutrients you absorb which you can influence as an individual through your choice of diet and additional vitamin and mineral (nutrient) supplements. These nutrients are absorbed by the body from your small intestine. At this level Aloeride® much helps uptake beyond itself providing micronutrients to be uptaken.

  5. Total amount of useable nutrients: is inherited + acquired nutrients in your nutrient bank, this can be spent on either 6 or 7. Minerals being shanghaied for the buffering of mesenchym acidosis goes beyond the scope of this introduction.

  6. Cleaning up: is how your body gets rid of unwanted and potentially harmful substances through the kidneys and liver (detoxification). Such substances are made up of fat soluble toxins (6a) and water soluble toxins (6b). Because an immune reponse is dependent on protein-energy as well as micronutrients (such as Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Iron, vitamins A, C, E, B6 and Folic Acid) I have added 6c to this side, any 'unnecessary' activation of the immune response simply wastes nutrients. Beyond normal sweating, the skin should not be used as a toxin exit route but it sometimes is; excess sweating spills your minerals (e.g. Zinc, Copper, Nickel, Chromium, Manganese, Sodium, Magnesium, Lead, Cadmium and Aluminium) hence mentioning skin under here too. When biochemical pathways of detoxification (6a/6b) do not run sufficiently you (gradually) become polluted, some of this pollution in a pregnant mother may be passed on to the baby which can cause 'epigenetic' DNA modifications and/or interfere with baby's development in other ways. If possible preconception planning should include a proper detoxification stage by the mother.

  7. Building up: is the range and quantity of nutrients available to make enzymes and hormones, both of which are necessary for healthy cell function (used for body repair, renewal and growth). Also you'd need them for neurotransmitters, immune responses or simply your body manufacturing energy. Not even the best motorcar drives without petrol in it.

So where does Aloeride® fit into this? At Step 3, it gives you an extra full spectrum of 300 nutrients with high levels of active molecules, so your body has extra nutrients to work with (Aloeride® has an exceptional level of nutrients in every capsule). And in step 4, Aloeride® helps you absorb more nutrients to get more from your diet and supplements. The more nutrients available for fuelling the daily body processes, the better you will feel.

The Aloeride® power up effect maximises the level of acquired nutrients you deposit into your nutrient bank (step 5). When your body has sufficient nutrients what will you notice:

  • I have high energy
  • I always feel well
  • I have more resilience
  • I am ready to take on the world
