Contains 21 pages of very informative and helpful information for those suffering from constipation.

In its Introduction Page, the ebooklet states “Plenty of people believe they are constipated or irregular, if they don’t have a bowel movement every day. This disallows for human variation, for normal may be twice a day or three times a week depending on the individual. Equally some naturally have firmer stools than others do. Some alternative practitioners say that adults should still have the baby pattern of a No.2 following every feed. I do not share that view.

What you are looking to achieve is improvement, not just a random number. If you now have bowel movement 1x a week, then achieving bowel movement 3x or 4x a week would be a great improvement for you. Is bowel movement every day ideal, probably so, but it is by no means the norm, so it is better to judge results by your own comparative improvement.

The differential diagnosis of constipation is vast but its classification broadly falls into three categories: a) normal-transit, functional constipation (60% of all cases, Pare et al. 2001), b) slow-transit constipation, and c) disorders of defaecation and anorectal evacuation (2nd commonest). Here I address a) and b), but the other group also may benefit.”

  1. Rebecca

Anyone who is a patient of Han would soon recognise his voice in his writing. The advice is as useful as it is thorough and much of it you would not find on your own. Well worth the £1 ??!! Great many thanks, Rebecca.
