The Best Fun Rides This Autumn

Are you planning a fun ride with your horse this autumn? We share our tips for enjoying a fun ride with your horse and a selection of the best fun rides this autumn you and your horse can enjoy this autumn.

Choosing The Perfect Fun Ride

Think of a fun ride as an organised hack with many fellow riders. Some fun rides include jumps and water, and some incorporate more road work than others. Choose the best ride for you and your horse’s ability and enjoyment.

Get Your Horse Fit

If your horse is not fit, asking him to undertake a marathon isn’t fair! So get your horse fit to avoid injuries such as pulled muscles or tendons. Increase your hacking time leading up to the event and incorporate more canter work if you plan to do faster work on your fun ride.

Feed Your Horse Appropriately

If you are upping your workload, you may need to review your horse’s nutritional requirements. Alongside their hard feed intake, review your horse’s supplements. Aloeride delivers premium organic aloe vera goodness in every sachet for wellness and vitality, including hooves, skin, coat and digestive support. If you have never used Aloeride before, then do make use of the introductory coupon code (myveryfirstcarton) and enjoy 25% discount on upto 4 cartons (120 servings).

What To Wear On A Fun Ride

Generally, there is no dress code, but some events may encourage you to dress up for charity with prizes for the best outfits. Opt for comfortable clothing and check your horse’s tack is properly adjusted before you set off. If you plan to ride in anything new, test it before the event to ensure you don’t have a wardrobe malfunction!

Safety Tips For Your Fun Ride

Be courteous to fellow riders and keep your distance. Remember, some riders may be more nervous or riding young or novice horses. Let riders know that you are passing and avoid jumps where there is a queue of riders to help prevent overcrowding. Stay alert and aware of riders around you and behind your horse. Stick at a pace you feel comfortable with and in control.
